Q: Why did you want to start a Virtual Assistant business?

A: To leave my toxic, stressful 9-5

Q: What inspired you to enroll in the Wanderlust Programs?

A: Seeing other women come through the program and stepping into freedom. I wanted to be connected to a great group of women and leave my 9-5. This was pre-covid shutdowns.

Q: As you know, VAing can unlock the freedom we crave in our lives! What do you love to do outside of work?

A: Be outside! Read on my own time. See my nieces and nephews and never miss birthdays ever again. I’m still looking for a hobby to obsess over, and now I’ve got the flexibility to figure it out. & I WILL be getting a dog.

Q: What does your “day-to-day” look like now that you run your own online business?

A: My days rotate between getting all my work done in the morning and having my afternoons completely free, and breaking up my work throughout the day with dance breaks, errands, and coffee in-between.

Q: What has proven to be the best way for you to find your unicorn clients?

A: Referrals and RESEARCH.

Q: You know how much we love to celebrate wins! What is a success in your biz that you are most proud of?

A: I love that I’ve been supporting ALL of my current clients (no matter how different) with copywriting support, and I’ve helped 2 starter business get started with IG.

Q: Tell us about your VA biz and what services you offer!

A: I work with female entrepreneurs, most recently shifting to working with copywriters as a SMM/Copywriting assistant. My longest standing role has been as a SMM (Social Media Marketer) for a social media strategist and I have learned so much! I love to write and bring other women’s voices to light. I offer IG business strategy calls (beta), SMM, copywriting, and other one-off projects.

Q: Who is your ideal client and what about them do you love?

A: Copywriters! I’d eventually love to be a copywriter myself because I’ve always had a passion for writing and editing, but I know there’s a lot to learn, and a lot of social media I can support them with.

Q: What type of job were you working in prior to running your own online business?

A: Social work

Q: What has been the most challenging part of starting your VA biz?

A: Having faith in myself. Setting boundaries. I had quite a few client to onboard immediately, so it was a a trial-by-fire sort of learning about boundaries and who I preferred to work with.

Q: What do you love most about virtual assisting?

A: Time freedom and meeting people I would never have met otherwise! None of my clients have been from my state.

Q: What is one piece of advice that you would give other women who are thinking of starting a VA biz?

A: Don’t hold yourself back because you’re worried about ‘what if.’ If that happens, think about what you want for your life vs what life would be like if you stayed exactly where you are for the next year…2 years. If you can’t bear that thought, start now.

You are a true inspiration Elise!
