Hello Wanderlusters!
This is a super fitting topic this week because I’ve taken my business on the road (as much as I can during this crazy pandemic). You will get insight into a day in the life of a VA, and how work/life balance actually works.
Is working from home too good to be true?
Is Digital Nomad life for someone else and not for you?
I would love to hear if you resonate with… the Digital Nomad lifestyle is just for the rich, famous, and the beautiful, you could never have it.
It 100% came up for me. Before I started my virtual assistant business I tried to become an Instagram influencer, I started three blogs, and I even tried a YouTube channel. I thought I would never make it because I am not like the rich and famous. I’m not a model!
That’s when I landed on Virtual Assisting.
I’m going to paint a picture of a day in the life of a full-time VA, side hustle VA, and a traveling VA.
Scenario 2:
Side Hustle VA
Imagine, you are a side hustle VA and working from home. Plus, you also have a main job that you are VAing alongside. This is really cool because this is how you can start. Sometimes the concept of virtual assisting (ie. leaving your 9 – 5, buying a one-way ticket, selling all your things, putting everything in storage, and traveling around the world) feels really extreme. It never has to be that.
Virtual Assisting can be really flexible!
In fact, if you just want it as a side hustle meaning, you just want an extra thousand bucks a month, or you want to cut down on some of your shifts at work, it can also be that!
It can be a side hustle. It can be full-time.
Let’s talk about the day in the life of the “side hustle VA”:
You get up in the morning and you go to your 9-5 job and you also have 1 or 2 VA clients. Depending on what your VA clients need, you work at the end of the day, at lunch, or maybe you’ve got one of those 9-5s where it is really quiet at your desk and you do VA work there. For example, I started my virtual assistant business as I was working a full-time job, and I did them both at the same time. I had quite a lot of downtime in the afternoon of my full-time job, so while I was sitting at the desk I did VA work.
Then one day, if you want to transition from “side hustle VA” to “full-time VA”, you totally can!
And if you’re a full-time VA and you want this to be a side hustle, you can do that as well!
You are able to do what works best for you!
